FOUNDER & HEART OF JOYFUL COMMONS

A young woman stands indoors against a brick wall, smiling. She carries a backpack, holds a green-and-white checkered notebook, and wears a dark blazer over a white top with dark trousers. There are large floral arrangements and warm lighting fixtures behind her.

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, I’ve spent the last several years building businesses centered around connection, creativity, and bringing people together in meaningful ways. My background is rooted in weddings and events, where I’ve had the privilege of helping couples and families celebrate some of the most important moments of their lives.

Over time, I realized what I loved most wasn’t just planning events — it was creating spaces and experiences that felt warm, approachable, personal, and deeply community-centered.

That heart ultimately led to Joyful Commons.

Outside of business, I’m also a wife, mom, podcast host, and someone who genuinely loves building community in Pittsburgh. Whether I’m designing a wedding weekend, hosting an event, brainstorming new ideas over coffee, or welcoming guests into Joyful Commons, people and connection are always at the center of what I do.

Thank you so much for being here and supporting this dream. It truly means the world to me.

Joyful Commons is an intimate gathering space designed for celebration, creativity, collaboration, and connection.

Originally home to the Liberty Hotel & Café Bar in 1906, the building carries more than a century of Pittsburgh-area history within its walls. From the original penny tile flooring to the character and warmth woven throughout the space, preserving the soul of the building was always an important part of the vision.

Today, Joyful Commons has been thoughtfully reimagined into a flexible venue where people can gather in meaningful ways — whether that’s celebrating life’s milestones, hosting a workshop, leading a meeting, creating content, or bringing a community together around a shared idea.

Jade also hosts The Cookie Table Podcast, where she explores celebratory traditions, big dreams, and the beautiful chaos intertwining family and entrepreneurship.

A proud Pittsburgh mom, designer of joy-filled experiences, and champion of real parenthood, Jade believes in raising both tiny humans and bold ideas without compromise.

created by the heart behind joyful events by jade

Joyful Commons was founded by Pittsburgh wedding planner and entrepreneur Jade, owner of Joyful Events by Jade, and co-owner of Brie & Baskets.

After years spent creating thoughtful experiences and meaningful celebrations through weddings and events, Jade dreamed of creating a space that felt warm, approachable, flexible, and deeply community-centered. A place where people could truly make the space their own.

What began as one vision naturally evolved into something even broader: a gathering place for connection in all forms.

Today, Joyful Commons proudly hosts:

  • showers & celebrations

  • workshops & classes

  • meetings & networking events

  • rehearsal dinners

  • pop-ups & markets

  • branding shoots & creative rentals

  • family-friendly gatherings

  • community-centered events

At Joyful Commons, we believe gatherings don’t need to feel overly formal or complicated to be meaningful.

Our goal is to create an environment that feels:
warm instead of sterile
flexible instead of restrictive
welcoming instead of overwhelming

With flexible rental options, BYOB-friendly policies, outside catering welcome, and thoughtfully designed spaces, Joyful Commons was created to help people gather in ways that feel authentic to them.

Whether you're celebrating something big, building community, hosting clients, teaching a class, or simply bringing people together — we’re honored to be part of it

we’re glad you’re here

More than anything, Joyful Commons exists to be a place where people feel connected — to their community, to their creativity, and to each other.

We can’t wait to welcome you through our doors.
